or related
platforms and projects, to discuss a wide range of system and application ideas
and issues.

Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain;
2nd IWP9 (2007), Bell Labs, NJ, US.

Paper Submission (closed)Papers of up to 15 pages must be sent to iwp9 at inf.uth.gr
(please Cc iwplan9 at gmail.com) in PDF or PS format.
Please do not forget to include the e-mail address of the contact author.
Submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail (please allow for a small delay).
Papers must be visually similar to Plan 9 papers that can be found
at /sys/doc/9/ in order to compile a homogeneous proceedings book.
See for example this paper.
Please keep this look and feel, use the same fonts and do not include page numbers.
You are free to use any style for references.

For accepted papers, besides the PDF/PS file, it would be nice if authors could provide
a LaTeX (or troff) source in order to facilitate the compilation of the proceedings book.
This is not mandatory. Worst case, page numbers and a toc will be added by hand.
The workshop proceedings will be published in electronic form. We are also
considering the edition of a printed version with ISBN, to be distributed during
the workshop.

Location & TravelThe workshop will be held at the Saratsi amphithearter, in the Papastratos
building complex, right on the main sea promenade of Volos. The address is:
Argonafton & Filelinon, 38221 Volos, Greece. For an overview of Volos
and the location of the building, see this map.

The city of Volos, located between Athens and Thessaloniki, can be reached
by public train (more info) and bus/coach
(more info), from Athens and Thessaloniki.
We have collected the most relevant travel information in this page
(some missing information should be updated soon).

Another option is to rent a car in Athens or Thessaloniki and drive to Volos,
about 300km and 200km, respectively. The drive is casual (for those accustomed
to mediterranean cultures), mostly on 2-lane motorways. Depending on the season,
there may be direct flights from major European cities to Volos
(e.g., see Air Berlin) or the nearby
island of Skiathos, from where Volos can be reached by boat within 2-3 hours
(see Hellenic Seaways for indicative
routes and reservation options).

For those interested in exploring the local countryside, we recommend
a trip to Pelion (see indicative site) and/or
the Sporades island group (see indicative site).

AccommodationThere are several hotels in walking distance from the Papastratos complex,
some of them marked on this map.

 The Park Hotel has kindly
agreed to offer a special rate for workshop participants for the 29th and 30th of October
(please use the code IWP9 when making your reservation). This offer should remain valid
until the 28th of September, but it is advisable to book as early as possible.
